Concrete Polishing

As a standalone flooring system, polished concrete can provide your space with a functional, contemporary look.  Besides the aesthetic value that a polished concrete floor adds, there are also functional benefits such as durability and stain resistance, and easy cleaning and maintenance.  Whereas tile may chip and crack and hardwood may easily scratch, a polished concrete floor is not prone to these pitfalls, making it a perfect option for industrial and commercial applications.    

Venetian employs a multi-step process to achieve the desired polished floor.  Polished finishes range from matte to glossy and with minimal to heavy aggregate exposure.  We start the process with the use of coarse metal bond diamond tooling connected to our powerful, high revving grinding machines. We gradually increase the diamond grit to reduce the scratch patterns of previous tool passes.  Patching and repair of holes and cracks is also completed to ensure the slab is clear of major blemishes.  This method is repeated until crisp, clear aggregate exposure is revealed.  Concrete densifiers and sealers are also used throughout the process to strengthen concrete, seal the pores, reduce wear patterns and provide years of stain resistance.  As a finishing touch, we can burnish the sealed concrete. Burnishing will heat the sealer to 90 degrees ensuring a proper bond of sealing material to concrete.  The type of sealer used will also help to dictate the amount of shine the concrete slab will emit.  To further customize the look of your polished floor, we also offer concrete tinting.
